From 14 to 24 of November, 2011, Jim BAGNOLA (see Jim BAGNOLA – the best trainer I’ve seen – Get a result now!) spoke about leadership in Cluj-Napoca, Belgrade, Timișoara and Bucharest; the trainings consisted in team management and leadership, wrapped up with games, case studies and practical jokes.

There are three events in the following weeks which caught my attention:
There would have been years in the past when I would have thought like this:
- Zilele Biz – great event, great speakers, great location; go, go, go;
- Jung – perhaps they’ll speak in complicated language; and I don’t know some speakers;
- ISOC – I don’t know most of the speakers; and it’s also very serious, no fun;
But today I think like this:
The message of this message is that tastes change, and now I want diversity far more than in the past; I also look for models; finally, boring is not that boring; finally, it’s not necessarily an
evolution, just something new.

I used to look at two major things when analyzing a speaker at a conference:
- Personal charisma / ability to convey a message;
- The message itself.
But it’s more than this; most conferences also have a main theme, they focus on something; well, from that perspective, it’s best to see a speaker who:
- Has done something great in his / her field;
I got this idea at
Webstock 11; some speakers had no particular charisma, others lacked a very good message; but, still, they fitted well, due to their experiences;
it was very appropriate to see a top performer in his/her field, even if the message and the “package” of the message was not that great.
