A change on my view about emigration
You may have read my blog post about Horia-Roman PATAPIEVICI, in which I said:
For example, staying in Romania is a definite answer for me due to the opinions of Horia-Roman PATAPIEVICI on the subject.
Find out below what has changed since then.
There are two things which I considered regarding emigration:
a. My duties to the past of the country you belong to (people died trying to protect the liberties I currently enjoy, for example);
b. Horia-Roman PATAPIEVICI said so; It’s that simple;
How did things change?
a. I know I have a duty for my country; But I also know I have a duty for other countries also; People died everywhere for the gift of liberty, for the values of democracy, for the virtues of life; My duty is universal;
b. In the blog post about Horia-Roman PATAPIEVICI I wrote:
The writer I analyze in this blog post considered that there are two kind of people in this worlds: some which consider that the fact that they were born within the borders of a country comes as a mere statistical probability (you have no connection to the land you were born on), while there are others for which the past matters a lot and live with an eye into the past.
Well, while I admire Horia-Roman PATAPIEVICI’s view and values of the world, I don’t necessarily share them all; So, I don’t think I have the same value regarding the place I was born (Romania); I don’t think that being born in Romania is a statistical happening, but I also don’t think that I have a duty to the Romanian people for being born here.
In a few words, this is how my values have a bit changed.

You mean emigration?
Anyhow, don’t you think this is over simplistic? Not leaving a country because of a duty sounds quite like an excuse: “I am not leaving my country because I am a teutonic knight and I die for my duties!”
And what’s this: “I have a duty for other countries also” “My duty is universal” If you want to make an Ashraam you can make it in Romania too, and then you can meditate and save the whole world from there…
Relax with all these duties and start living somewhere because of more positive motivation. Jesus Christ is dead.
Why not admit you would like to leave Romania because it is a shit hole in many respects, but would also like to stay because it is a great place to live in and that you don’t emmigrate because you don’t have the guts.
All this rationalization with duties to the world is cheap. really.
You’re right, it’s emigration, I’ve changed it.
Actually, that’s the way in which I think.
I don’t believe that “Jesus Christ is dead”.
Regarding admitting some things: above you found my thinking on duties on emigration (I was about to say, once more, “immigration”)
My reasoning for wanting to leave Romania or stay in it are more complex than “the duty thing”.
All I wanted to show in this blog post was what changed with the “duty thing”.
Other than that, I agree with most of the things you said.
Thanks for the message.
